What price will we get on Sunny Ridge?

LONESPEED HORSE

The morning line is out, and it appears Sunny Ridge is expected to be something around 9/2 when they break from the gate in the Cigar Mile at Aqueduct on Saturday.  Personally, I’m hoping for more like 6/1, although maybe that’s wishful thinking.  Regardless, I love his chances.  He was wide all the way around the turn in the Kelso and had to work hard to close into the slowish fractions set by eventual winner Patternrecognition. That one comes back in here too, along with Mendelssohn, Copper Town, and Timeline.

I think the Cigar Mile sets up perfectly for Sunny Ridge.  He can probably secure an inside trip breaking from Post 2, and then sit back and let the speedballs duke it out for the opening 6F before making his move. If he ends up as the fourth choice in the betting as the morning line suggests, regardless of price, I’d say he’s the right bet.
